Explosion hits Afghan Army bus

An Army bus was hit by a powerful explosion in Kabul on Monday, leaving authorities fearing significant casualties, police said.

“There was an explosion targeting an Army bus at the Milli Bus crossroad in Police District 16 at 3:15 pm” (1045 GMT), said Hashmat Stanekzai, Kabul police spokesman.

“The incident had casualties, but the number is not clear yet,” he said. “Also it is not clear if it was a [roadside] bombing or a suicide attack.”
