Pakistan condemned Friday’s early morning drone strike by U.S. at the Ghulam Khan Tehsil of North Waziristan . The Dawn reported that at least six suspected militants were killed and three injured. In the last drone strike on August 31, four suspected militants had been killed.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said they were a violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Islamabad has maintained that drone strikes are counterproductive and also set a dangerous precedent for inter-state relations. Pakistan has repeatedly emphasised the need to end them and is planning to raise the issue in the U.N. General Assembly later this month in New York.
