At least three civilians were killed and six others injured on Saturday by a car bomb in southern Afghanistan, an official said.

“The bomber detonated his car near a health centre in Daman district on the airport road at 10 am (local time),” said Javed Faisal, governor spokesman for Kandahar province.

He said it was “not clear” whether the attack was intended for a convoy of NATO-led international troops that was a kilometre away.

The Taliban did not comment on the incident.
