A bomb blast on Monday at a health centre on the outskirts of Peshawar in Suleman Khel part of Budh Bher area killed two persons, including a policeman. There was an anti- polio campaign being conducted in the area and Monday was the third day. As soon as the medical team, accompanied by security personnel, reached the health centre at Bazid Khel, there was a loud explosion which killed two and injured 11 others. The bomb, set off by a remote controlled device, had five kg of explosives, police said. Another bomb with eight kg of explosives near the health centre was defused. Shiraz Paracha, spokesperson for the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, told The Hindu on the phone that while one person who died was a policeman, the other was a volunteer. This is the fifth blast in or near Peshawar in two weeks.
