Bomb kills eight in Pakistan

A roadside bomb hit a passenger vehicle in north-western Pakistan on Tuesday, killing eight people and wounding six others, officials and locals said.

The attack occurred in Parachinar town of Khurram region.

A pick-up truck carrying passengers from the town hit a bomb planted by the roadside, local administration official Ilyas Khan said.

Also on Tuesday, shots were fired at a police patrol in Islamabad, injuring two security officials, the Interior Ministry said.
