Blast kills five militants in northwest Pakistan

At least five Tehrik-e-Taliban militants were killed and four others injured on Monday when a blast ripped through a compound of the banned outfit in northwest Pakistan.

The incident occurred at the outfit’s compound in Raj Gul area in Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency, sources said.

Meanwhile, two security personnel were injured in a roadside remote-controlled IED blast in Spinwam area of North Waziristan Agency.

Security forces were clearing landmines along the road when the blast occurred, injuring two soldiers, official sources said.

The injured soldiers were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital Thall for medical treatment.
