On a day when Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammed Nawaz Sharif visited Peshawar to review the security situation there, bombs went off in three cities killing 10 persons, some of them security personnel. For the second time since July, a bomb explosion shook Lahore’s popular food street or Old Anarkali market killing one person and injuring over 13 on Thursday.

Police said it was an improvised explosive device and it was a low level blast. The bomb was probably placed in a bag in a hotel. The explosion before noon shattered the glass panes in nearby buildings and people rushed out hearing the loud noise.

Police are not yet saying who is responsible for the incident. A powerful blast in July killed 5 and injured many people in the same market which is in the vicinity of top government and police offices. Then the bomb was placed inside a hotel under a chair, according to news reports.

In Quetta, a bomb on a bicycle parked outside the City police station exploded killing six persons and injuring over 30. Some shops and vehicles were also damaged. For the sixth time in over a fortnight, Peshawar was also targeted , this time some security personnel who were escorting polio vaccination teams, according to news reports.Three persons were killed in the blast.
