Early morning air strikes by fighter jets in Khyber agency on Thursday killed 37 terrorists and injured 18, according to military sources.

The air strikes hit terrorist hideouts and the sources said those who were killed were involved in the recent bomb blast in Sabzi Mandi in the capital, the bombing of policemen in Charsadda and the killing of security officials in Peshawar.

The air strikes come after a meeting to review the future of the peace dialogue with the Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan(TTP). While the TTP has distances itself from the Sabzi Mandi blast , it has also refused to extend the ceasefire which ended on April 10. Yesterday’s meeting decided to make contact with the Taliban shura once again and try and address grievances of both sides.
