At least two policemen guarding an Afghan bank branch were killed on Tuesday during a Taliban attack, with two gunmen still inside the building, police said.

“One attacker blew himself up at the gate of the Kabul Bank branch in Asadabad city, killing two police guards and injuring two bank employees,” said Abdul Habib Sayedkheli, police chief for north-eastern Kunar province.

Mr. Sayedkheli said two other attackers opened fire inside the bank, and were engaged in a gun battle with security forces. Part of the bank building caught fire, he added.
