Authorities say a small 3.6 magnitude earthquake lasting a few seconds struck northern England.
The British Geological Survey said on Monday that the tremor, which hit just after 9 p.m. local time, was centred on the county of North Yorkshire.
Staff at the Swinton Park Hotel in Masham, England - 10 miles (16 kilometers) from the epicentre of the quake - say they felt the earth move and heard a loud rumbling as bar glasses rattled and plates shook on shelves.
Police say there have been no reports of injuries or damage from the quake, which is the second temblor to hit the region in less than a month.
A 3.5 magnitude earthquake struck the area on December 21.
