Six killed in Hungary as Romanian bus, truck crash

Police say six people were killed and 23 injured when a Romanian bus carrying 40 people collided with a cement truck in southwest Hungary.

Zala County police say the victims of Tuesday’s accident include the bus driver and a co—driver, three bus passengers and the truck driver. The bus was on its way from Romania to Valencia, Spain. The truck was from Slovenia.

The accident took place on the M70 highway near the village of Csornyefold, 155 miles (250 kilometers) southwest of Budapest, the Hungarian capital.

Police say the crash, close to Hungary’s border with Slovenia, appeared to be a head—on collision, and three of the injured passengers were in serious condition.
