At least seven people were killed in two separate blasts across the country on Monday morning. While the maximum casualties — six — were reported from the suicide blast at Battagram in Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa, another person was killed in a series of accidental explosions at an ammunition depot of the Army on the outskirts of the federal capital.

The blast at Battagram took place near the venue of a rally that was being organised by the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) — a constituent of the Pakistan People’s Party-led coalition at the federal level. As for the blasts near Islamabad, the Army said it was an accidental explosion in a unit ammunition store near Sihala. One soldier was killed in the explosion and three others sustained injuries.
