Russia has denounced Israel's naval attack against a humanitarian aid flotilla as a gross breach of international law and demanded an end to the Israeli blockade of Gaza.
Russia's Foreign Ministry expressed “condemnation and profound concern” over the incident in a statement issued on Monday.
The statement called for a thorough investigation into the Israeli attack and drew attention to the fact that it happened in international waters. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev met with Hamas leader Meshaal during a visit to Syria last month.
