A blue-fronted Amazon parrot is amusing people in the U.K. with his ability to speak multiple languages, including Urdu.
Greets passersby
Rocket, the multilingual bird who speaks Arabic, Urdu and English, can be heard greeting “Assalamu Alaikum” (Peace be upon you) in Arabic to amazed passers-by, the Mirror reported.
The bird is just as likely to squawk “Hello, how are you?” as “Arg yahaan” — Urdu for “they’re here,” another report in Sun said.
From Pakistan
The bird was bought to Greater Manchester two years ago by a Pakistani who kept parrots back home.
“My dad, Tariq, used to keep parrots in Pakistan and when he moved to England he wanted to get some here as well,” Rocket’s owner 18-year-old Ehsaan Mahmood told the Mirror.

Big deal. I know an American Sanskrit professor whose parrot speaks
Sanskrit and Marathi, and knows how to say way more than just "Hello,
how are you?"
