Plane with 25 people crashes in eastern Indonesia

A passenger plane carrying 25 people has crashed in Indonesia’s eastern province of West Papua. A police official says 15 people were killed.

Transportation ministry spokesman Bambang Ervan says the plane belonging to a state-owned company went down Saturday afternoon en route from the town of Sorong to Kaimana in the same province.

Mr. Ervan says there were 21 passengers and four crew on board.

Police Lt. Col. Antonius Wanti Julianto said 15 bodies have been found.
