The Pakistani Taliban reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack, which targeted people from the pro-government Ferozkhel tribe.

The death toll from a bomb which ripped through a busy market in Pakistan’s north-west tribal region rose overnight to 13, district officials said on Saturday.

Dozens were injured on Friday when the bomb, planted in a mobile phone shop, went off in Kalaya, the main town in the district of Orakzai.

Thirteen victims were taken to a health facility in Peshawar, where a man died early Saturday, hospital spokesman Jameel Shah said.

The man’s brother remained in critical condition, he added.
