Nine killed, dozens injured in Iraq bombings

Nine people were killed and 55 injured on Wednesday in a series of explosions in northern Iraq, police said.

The bombings in Kirkuk hit a group of construction workers, the offices of a Kurdish political party, and an army patrol.

The oil-producing region is at the centre of a long-running territorial dispute between Iraq’s Kurdish, Arab and Turkmen ethnic groups.
