Authorities say a small medical services plane crash landed at Munich airport, leaving the Cessna heavily damaged but the two pilots aboard unharmed.
Police spokesman Peter Griesser said one of the plane’s two turboprop engines failed while approaching the airport on Tuesday morning and the other failed shortly before landing.
The Cessna 425 dropped about 80 meters (260 feet) before reaching the runway, Mr. Griesser said. The cause of the engine failure was under investigation.
The plane was not carrying any patients. The 38-year-old pilot and his co-pilot, 46, whose names were not released for privacy reasons, were not hurt.
The plane was coming from Hannover to pick up an organ for a transplant, German news agency DAPD reported.
