A magnitude-6.1 earthquake has shaken Argentina, but there are no reports of damage or injury.

The U.S. Geological Survey says quake at 4.46 a.m. (2.46 a.m. EST; 0746 GMT) Monday was centered about 112 kilometres east-southeast of the city of Santiago del Estero. But it was very deep - 550 kilometres below the earth’s surface.
