Police killed in attacks on Kazakhstan's financial capital Almaty

The interior ministry in Kazakhstan on Monday confirmed that policemen had been killed following armed attacks on a police station and a national security service building in the country's largest city Almaty.

"There are dead among the police officers. One of the attackers has been detained, one is at large," the interior ministry said in a statement, without indicating how many policemen had died in the attacks in Kazakhstan's financial capital nor the identities of the gunmen.
