Oscar-winning filmmaker James Cameron has been added to the problem-solving task force seeking a way to halt the oil slick disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.

The ‘Avatar’ director, who is a deep-sea diving pioneer, has reportedly joined the think tank sessions being held in an effort to plug the hole in the exploded Deepwater Horizon Rig, Contactmusic reported.

Cameron met with experts and federal officials on Tuesday as the boffins attempted to come up with a quick fix for the massive environmental disaster.

The 55-year-old filmmaker is not the only celebrity involved with the oil spill solution - Kevin Costner is in the Gulf promoting new oil-filtering technology created by his brother and ‘The Usual Suspects’ star Stephen Baldwin is shooting a documentary about the clean-up efforts.
