The Israeli military says its Navy has captured an arms vessel 160 km off Israel’s coast.

Israel’s main TV, radio stations and newspaper Websites said authorities suspected the vessel was headed from Iran to Syria. The boat was being taken to the Israeli port of Ashdod on Wednesday, officials said.

Col. Avital Leibovich said the ship was carrying weapons but did not specify which kind. She said it was flying an Antigua flag.

Other Defence Ministry officials said the arms cache included anti-tank missiles.
