Iran’s state news agency says authorities have hanged 11 members of the armed Sunni militant group Jundallah after convicting them of bombing attacks.

Ebrahim Hamidi, head of the Justice Department of southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchistan, told the state news agency that the 11 men were hanged at dawn in Zahedan, the capital of the province.

Mr. Hamidi says all 11 were convicted in a free and fair.

The Jundallah group, or Soldiers of God, has claimed responsibility for many attacks on military and civilians over the past years, including a deadly bombing near a mosque last Wednesday that killed 39 worshippers.
