A Super Decathlon flies too low before being crashed during an air show in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia, Friday, September 24, 2010.

An Indonesian pilot whose small aircraft crashed during an air show last week died of his injuries Monday, hospital staff said.

Alexander Supeli suffered burns over 60 per cent of his body after the Super Decathlon PK-NZP plane he was piloting went down Friday while performing an aerobatic stunt in Bandung, the capital of West Java province.

“The doctors did their best, but his injuries were too severe,” a nurse at Bandung’s Hasan Sadikin hospital said.

Supeli, 54, successfully performed a similar stunt a day earlier.
