Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday clicked a selfie with his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang in what could be termed as a power-packed selfie with premiers of two big nations in one frame.
Mr. Modi pulled out a smartphone during his visit to the Temple of Heaven in Beijing as he posed for the shot with Chinese Premier Li.
“It’s selfie time! Thanks Premier Li,” Mr. Modi tweeted along with the photograph in which both leaders sported wide smiles.

“Where selfies are concerned, there’s always scope for one more! PM @narendramodi with Premier Li, Temple of Heaven,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted along with the photograph.
Mr. Modi also took a number of selfies with students and children at the joint Yoga and Taichi event at the Temple of Heaven.
The Prime Minister sportingly took selfies with smartphones of children as they jostled for getting clicked with Mr. Modi.
“Enjoyed interacting with China’s youth,” Mr. Modi tweeted later.
Mr. Modi is known for taking selfies on foreign tours with leaders, supporters and children.
Last year, during his trip to Australia, Mr. Modi posted a selfie with his “friend” and Australian counterpart Tony Abbott.
The selfie signed by the two leaders was taken at the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
'Support our bid for a permanent UNSC seat’
Pressing China to back India’s bid for a permanent seat in a reformed U.N. Security Council and membership of the Nuclear Suppliers Group, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said such a move will take bilateral ties to a new level and give Asia a stronger voice.
“China’s support for India’s permanent membership of a reformed UNSC and for India’s membership of export control regimes like Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) will do more than just strengthen our international cooperation,” Mr. Modi said while addressing the students of the Tsinghua University.
Earlier, Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar told the media that China for the first time said it had taken note of India’s interest to become a member of the 44-nation NSG which controls the civil nuclear technology trade regime.
On the UNSC, China reiterated that it backed India’s aspiration to play big role in the world body.
