France’s Emmanuel Macron has stretched his lead in polls for this month’s parliamentary election, according to a survey on Friday that showed voters continuing to abandon traditional parties for the President’s new centrist party.

A poll by Ipsos Steria published by Le Monde daily showed Mr. Macron’s Republique En Marche (Republic on the Move, REM) party and its allies surging ahead to 31% in the June 11 first round of the election, up from 24% in late April.

The survey of 14,958 voters showed the right-wing Republicans trailing on 22% and the far-right National Front on 18%, down three points.
