Five policemen killed in Pakistan militant attacks

At least five police personnel, including an officer, were killed in two separate militant attacks in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Friday.

According to reports, the first attack happened in Chichloo area of Loralai district where unidentified armed men attacked a police vehicle, killing four people, and fled the scene, Xinhua news agency.

Police said the militants ambushed the vehicle carrying the policemen on their way back from a court hearing.

The law enforcement agencies cordoned off the entire area to hunt down the assailants.

Three policemen also went missing following the attack, but came back to the police station a few hours later, However, they have not talked to media about the incident yet.

In another incident in the district, militants forced a police officer to alight from a passenger bus he was travelling in and shot him dead on the street.

No group has claimed responsibility for either of the attacks yet.

Loralai district is in the country’s southwest Balochistan province where attacks on police and army are normally associated with separatist groups.
