Explosion kills three in western Nepal

Three people including two children were killed and five others injured when a bomb today accidentally exploded in a remote village of western Nepal.

The incident occurred when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded accidentally while a former soldier was showing it to his neighbours at Malakheti village in Kailali district, about 550 km from here, Nepal Police spokesman Vinod Singh said.

Lal Bahadur Bohara, the ex-soldier later succumbed to his injuries, he said, adding five others were undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

Further investigation in the case is on and police is ascertaining how the ex-soldier got the explosives, spokesman added.
