An Emirates flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Dubai crash-landed in Dubai on Wednesday, with the authorities saying the 282 passengers and 18 crew on board were evacuated safely and no injuries reported.

“Concerned Authorities at Dubai International Airport are dealing with the incident at the moment to ensure safety of all. All passengers were evacuated safely and no injuries have been reported so far,” the Dubai media office tweeted about the incident involving flight EK521.

Emirates confirmed that flight EK521 from Thiruvananthapuram to Dubai has been involved in an accident at the Dubai international airport.

“Emirates can confirm that an incident happened at Dubai International Airport today at 12.45 pm local time,” the airline spokesperson said.

It said that the Boeing 777 aircraft, departed at 10.19 am from Trivandrum International Airport was scheduled to land at 12.50 pm at Dubai.

Further information will be shared when it becomes available, the spokesperson added.

Video footage showed smoke billowing from the Boeing 777, which has a capacity of carrying over 300 passengers.

All departures from the airport were halted after the Emirates accident.

"An Emirates plane coming from India has been involved in accident on landing at Dubai International," Dubai Media Office said on its Twitter account. "All passengers were evacuated safely and no injuries have been reported so far."

“All departure flights from Dubai International Airport have been delayed until further notice,” the office said.
