A Chinese ship has capsized near Japan, the Chinese consulate general said in Osaka on Wednesday.

Official said five crew members of the ship LURONGYU2859 were rescued, while some nine were still missing, Xinhua reported.

The ship capsized about 390 km off Japan’s Shimane prefecture on Tuesday morning.

The Japanese coastguard received a rescue request from China’s search and rescue centre late Tuesday.
