The state Capitol building in Madison, in United States’ Wisconsin was evacuated today afternoon after a bomb threat.
The building was searched and nothing was found, Department of Administration spokeswoman Carla Vigue said.
“No suspicious objects have been found at this time. This is an ongoing investigation,” Vigue said adding that no additional information is available at this time.
At approximately 3 pm (local time), Capitol police asked holiday visitors and legislative staff to leave the building and closed the doors while it is searched.
Governor Jim Doyle was not in the Capitol, that houses the highest court and its bicameral legislature, at the time of the threat.
The Capitol was later reopened to employees after the search operation.
