Canada has approved a legislation which denies work to 300,000 immigrant professionals awaiting evaluation of their employment applications since 2008.
Criticising the move, several immigration specialized lawyers alleged that the regulation which was approved last month will leave the immigrants out after the country “forced” them to wait for almost 10 years with a promise to evaluate their cases.
According to the lawyers, the Canadian authorities will refuse those employment applications although in 2003 the Federal Court underrated a similar legislative project against 100,000 applicants.
The new measure does not agree with the supposed facilities that Ottawa grants the qualified immigrants to be living in the country and help develop the national economy, because of its population’s fast aging.
Every year that nation receives at least 250,000 foreigners in search of labour opportunities.
According to a recent survey by companies Ipsos Laughs and Postmedia News, in 2031 the immigration will be responsible for 80 per cent of the demographic increase in Canada.
“Without a constant immigration or a substantial increase in the indexes of fertility, the reproductive growth could be zero in 20 years,” said the study that interviewed 1,101 people in the whole country from June 20 to June 25.
