The body of a kidnapped British aid worker was found in Balochistan's capital Quetta on Sunday nearly four months after his abduction from the area in January. Khalil Rasjed Dale was working on a health programme of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Quetta when he was kidnapped on January 5 while returning home from work.
The beheaded body of the 60-year-old Dale was found dumped by the roadside. According to the police, he had been killed about 12 hours before the body was found. The body was wrapped in a plastic bag and left near a bypass road with his name written on the bag with a black marker.
Condemning the murder, the Pakistan Foreign Office in a statement said the government was determined to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice. “Pakistan is committed to combat terrorism and the death of Mr. Dale has only strengthened our resolve to eliminate this scourge.''
In a statement, the ICRC condemned the murder of its staff member. According to ICRC, he had been working as the health programme manager for the past one year.
