Police say a suicide bomber has killed a senior local police official in the north-western Pakistani city of Peshawar.

Peshawar police chief Liaquat Ali Khan says the bomber struck Rasheed Khan’s vehicle on Monday as he was patrolling the outskirts of Peshawar. Rasheed Khan was the deputy superintendent of police for southern Peshawar.

No group has claimed responsibility for the bombing, but Peshawar has been repeatedly attacked by the Pakistani Taliban.
