Bangladesh bans Islamist outfit linked to killing of bloggers

In recent months, three bloggers have been hacked to death by suspected Islamist militants, causing conern at local as well as global levels.

The Bangladesh government has banned militant Islamist outfit, Ansarullah Bangla Team, which has >claimed responsibility for >killings of several bloggers and free thinkers in the recent months. According to a government notification, the outfit has been banned for its militant and anti-state activities under the country’s Anti-Terrorism Act, 2013.

In recent months, three bloggers have been hacked to death by suspected Islamist militants, two in Dhaka and one in north-eastern Sylhet, causing conern at local as well as global levels.
