British Airways claimed on Saturday that around 87 per cent of its long—haul flights were operating, as striking cabin crews returned to work for one day, before starting a fresh five—day strike.
The first five—day strike, over staffing numbers and travel perks, ended late Friday, with a fresh one due on Sunday — disrupting the British Bank Holiday weekend.
But BA took out a number of newspaper advertisements to reassure customers that the majority of flights were operating normally.
“Together, we are confident that we will keep flying through any further industrial action,” BA added.
The airline admitted short and medium haul flights, which have more complicated logistics and turn—around times, were more badly affected but said passengers were being re-booked on BA partner airlines.
A third five—day strike is due to start on 5 June.
