Police say a fisherman was mauled by a 13—foot (four—meter) crocodile that tried to drag him into a creek in north-eastern Australia.
Queensland state police say the 28—year—old man managed to cling to mangroves on the creek bank until the attack ended on Wednesday near the Outback town of Weipa.
The man was extensively lacerated and suffered dislocated bones, but his injuries are not life threatening. He was flown to a hospital in Cairns.
Crocodiles are known to snatch humans and animals from banks.
