Opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi has returned home after a triumphant tour of Europe, where she won enthusiastic support for her role in Myanmar’s democratic transition and was celebrated like a head of state.
Cheering crowds packed into Yangon’s airport on Saturday and lined the roads outside hoping to see Ms. Suu Kyi.
During her two-week trip, Ms. Suu Kyi met with political leaders in Switzerland, Norway, Ireland, England and France.
The trip’s highlights included Ms. Suu Kyi’s long-awaited acceptance speech for the 1991 Nobel Peace Prize, which she won while under house arrest in Myanmar.
The former military regime kept Ms. Suu Kyi under house arrest for 15 of 23 years. She was freed in 2010, after the military ceded power to a nominally civilian government.

Suu Kyi has done much after getting the nobel peace prize.
Many many persons do great things in their fields after receiving the
covetted nobel prizes.Our former president has got a Bharat ratna
award .He has done lot as a scientist and as president.He still
continues to contribute in every field including science,his pet
subject.We feel Kalam should be awarded Nobel prize this year.
Incidently when we look at the great work done by Suu kyi we note
her transformation after the prize and this she herself had admitted in her OSLO speech.The readers would be interested to know that Hanuman was called a "Sollin Selvan" by Rama in Kamba
Ramayanam.even before he exibited his capacity to speak great
things.Hanuman had shown his talents as a great speaker only in the
latter part and also when he met Ravana in Srilanka as a messenger
of Rama,long after getting the title"sollin slvan(good speaker)
