At least six suspected terrorists were reportedly killed and two injured in a drone attack in South Waziristan on Sunday. Those killed are said to have been members of the Mullah Nazir group and the drones struck when they had gathered to offer prayers for another terrorist who had been killed in a drone attack on Saturday.
Despite being a key irritant in U.S.-Pakistan relations, the drone attacks have intensified over the past fortnight at a time when the bilateral relationship is being tested to its core. Of the 20 drone attacks this year, seven have taken place over the past two weeks, according to the Long War Journal which keeps a log on the visits of the unmanned Predators – operated by the CIA — to the tribal areas of Pakistan along its border with Afghanistan.
Though Pakistan had protested the attacks when they resumed last month, the last few have not drawn any criticism from the Foreign Office which has always said they are counter-productive and a violation of the sovereignty.

Let me make you something very clear that its not eight people who got
killed but a complete family mother father and six little cute children
were the target of this Bombing. Alas i were allowed to post the
photograph of the innocent cute little children who were the victim of
this terrorism led by the powerful state machinery of USA and several
other accomplices.
I can only pray for a better future of young Afghanistan.
So, in spite of all Pakistan's protests about "the violation of its sovereignty" US drone strikes on targets in Pakistan continue because US has reason to believe that those target points had an assemblage of terrorists. It is clear that the US does not care one bit for the anger and anti-American feeling in Pakistan. Such anti-American feeling has its origin more in Pakistan government's and the Islamists' propaganda than in the actual feelings of the Pakistani people. Perhaps there is something in this that the Pakistan government needs to take note of. That in my view is that the US is not prepared to condone the killing of Isaf personnel in Afghanistan by Afghan Taliban assisted by Pakistan's Haqqani Network and TTP (Pakistani Taliban). Clearly, the US and its Allies are prepared for the costs of airlifting their troops from Afghanistan via the northern air routes, which have been negotiated. If that happens, Pakistan may discover that it had sunk into complete irrelevance.
