Hollywood star Angelina Jolie is set to play one of the most iconic villains as she steps into the shoes of fairy-sorceress in Disney’s re-imagining of the .

“Maleficent”, a modern interpretation of the classic fairy-tale, will begin shooting in June this year in London.
Elle Fanning is in talks to play Aurora in the live-action movie.
Robert Stromberg will direct “Maleficent” from a script by Linda Woolverton and is already in the UK prepping the film.
The film is a passion project for Jolie, who recently overshadowed the Oscars by showing her right leg through a daring slit in her black velvet gown. It will be her next acting role. Jolie recently made her feature directorial debut with Bosnian war drama “In the Land of Blood and Honey“.
The 36-year-old star was drawn to the complex relationship between Maleficent and Sleeping Beauty and wanted to play the character for a long time.
