An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale struck off the coast of West Papua in eastern Indonesia late on Tuesday, but there were no reports of damage, officials said.
The quake occurred at 7:21 pm (10.21 GMT) with an epicentre 131 kilometres south-east of Kaimana at a depth of 10 kilometres, according to the Meteorology, Geophysics and Climatology Agency. There was no threat of a tsunami, the agency said.
On September 29, a quake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale rocked the region, prompting a tsunami warning.
