6.1 magnitude quake strikes Chile

A strong 6.1 earthquake struck Chile’s central region but authorities said no injuries or damage were reported.

The US Geological Survey said the quake’s epicentre was 54 kilometres south-west of San Antonio and struck on Wednesday at 4.36 pm local time. The quake shook Chile’s capital of Santiago, causing office buildings to sway.
