Attackers struck in Peshawar and tribal areas on Wednesday, less than two days after two suicide attacks shocked the country, taking the number of attacks to five this week.
Police in Peshawar said a suicide attacker on motorbike struck a van carrying local judges which resulted in the killing of the driver while several judges were injured.
Earlier in the day, three paramilitary force personnel, along with two civilians, were killed in an attack in Mohmand Agency. A local political agent was the target.
All the attacks were claimed by Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JuA) group, a breakaway faction of the Pakistan Taliban.
On Wednesday, Pakistan summoned Deputy-High Commissioner of Afghanistan, Syed Abdul Yasir Yousafi, to the Foreign Office. It reportedly expressed grave concerns over the attacks by JuA, which it alleged was operating from Afghanistan.
