At least two people were killed and eight injured in a car bombing in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul on Sunday, police said.

The car bomb exploded in the parking lot of a medical centre in the city, located some 400 kilometres north of Baghdad. The attack follows Saturday’s attacks across Mosul that claimed six lives.

The area in and around Mosul is among the most ethnically diverse and dangerous in Iraq. Insurgents mount near-daily attacks in the area despite regular security sweeps, which police say have netted hundreds of suspects.
