Gunfire attack on a bus at a petrol pump in Khuzdar area of Balochistan set off a fire on Friday, killing 18 people. Police claimed more deaths were caused by the fire than the shooting. The dead included women and children, and the identity of the assailants was not known till late in the night.
According to the police, gunmen opened indiscriminate fire at the bus. With some of the bullets hitting drums filled with petrol, they exploded causing a fire that spread fast given the amount of combustible material present.
Several shops in the vicinity were also destroyed.
