INS Mysore heads for Persian Gulf

A day after The Hindu r eported the meeting of senior officials on > possible evacuation from Iraq, sources say the Navy has despatched the INS Mysore, a Delhi-class warship towards the Persian Gulf . The INS Mysore was deployed in 2011 to evacuate Indians from Tripoli, ahead of the NATO bombing of Libya.

The government has sought details of commercial ships that can be sent into Basra port, if the situation warrants a quick evacuation.
