A political party with a view to preserve Hindu religion and culture in the country was on Saturday launched in Nepal.
Rastriya Shiva Sena Party with 34 member central executive body was formed with Bikram Bahadur Bam as its president and Surya Prasad Prasai as a top leader, according to a press release issued by the party.
“Our party belongs to conscious, active patriotic people of Nepal and our aim is to preserve and protect Hindu religion and culture but we do not belong in Hindu extremism,” Mr. Bam said.
First of all we are Nepalese people and before that we belong to the Hindu community, said the party in its statement issued on Saturday.
The party will soon register itself in the election commission to get formal recognition as a political party, he said.
