A five-year-old boy Yashjraj Kumar, who was missing from Tuesday evening after returning home from school at Mangalhat, was found murdered at Narsingi on city outskirts on Wednesday.

The boy’s partially burnt body was found near Peeram tank opposite PBEL City project in Narsingi. Aftter an alerted by locals, the police reached the spot and identified the body.

The boy’s father, Anil, hailing from Karnataka was employed in a private company and was living in the city for the past few years with his family at Jingsi Chowrahi in Mangalhat.

Kumar was not seen from Tuesday evening after coming home from school. After a hectic search, the parents approached the Mangalhat police who registered a case of missing person.

Even as details of the missing boy were sent to different police stations in Hyderabad and Cyberabad police commissionerates, they got information that the boy was found murdered.

On a tip-off, the police picked up a person hailing from Jingsi Chowrahi and are questioning him for his possible involvement in the boy's death.

Sources said the suspect abducted the boy from the locality and took him to Narsingi in a vehicle. En route, he strangled the five-year-old to death.

After dumping the body at a secluded place near Peeram tank, he poured petrol on it and set it ablaze.

Further investigations are one.
