Far-right activist Ernst Zundel has been released from prison in Germany after serving a five-year sentence for denying the holocaust.

Zundel emerged from the prison in Mannheim on Monday to a crowd of around 20 supporters who clapped and shouted ``bravo'' as he walked through the gates.

The 70-year-old Zundel told The Associated Press he was not sure if he would return to Canada, from where he was deported in 2005 to face 14 counts of inciting hatred for years of anti-Semitic activities, including contributing to a Web site devoted to denying the holocaust _ a crime in Germany.
