Live | Karnataka row: Congress moves Supreme Court over pro-tem Speaker appointment
The Congress-JD (S) combine has approached the Supreme Court challenging the Karnataka Governor’s decision to appoint Mr. Bopaiah as the pro-tem Speaker.
According to sources, the petition was placed before a registrar of the apex court but some defects were pointed out in the plea. “Some defects have been pointed out to us and we are curing those defects,” one of lawyers, associated with the development, said.
Supreme Court orders Centre to implement draft Cauvery Management Scheme
The Supreme Court on Friday ordered the Central government to implement its draft Cauvery Management Scheme after finding it in consonance with its February 16 judgment.
The court also found the draft scheme in conformity with Section 6A of the Inter-State River Water Disputes Act.

Central govt carries out reshuffle in top bureaucracy involving 24 secretaries
In a large-scale top level bureaucratic reshuffle, the Central government on Friday named important secretaries for commerce, petroleum and natural gas, information and broadcasting, education and steel. The reshuffle involves appointments of over two dozen top bureaucrats in the Centre.
